The governor of lagos state made this announcement known in a statement while lamenting that the protests against police brutality and extrajudicial killings had become violenced insteat of a peaceful protest.
He said, “I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest which has continued for almost wweeks has degenerated into a monsterious activity that is threatening the well-being of our society at large. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash danger on our state.
“I therefore impose a 24hours curfew on all parts of the state as from 4pm today October 20th, 2020. Nobody should be seen on the street except essential services provider and first responders.
