BREAKING: FG RELAXES CURFEW AND LIFTS BAN ON CHURCHES AND MOSQUES.
The federal government has lifted the ban on religious gathering (churches and mosques) across the country. This ban was imposed by the Federal government about two months ago basically to check the spread of the virus.
At the briefing of the PTF (presidential task force) on COVID-19 on Monday June 1st, 2020, sir Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of the PTF announced that President Buhari had approved the following;
Sir Mustapha announced the new CoVID-19 measures starting from june 2nd till 29th of june.
1. Relaxation of the ban of religious gathering for four weeks. That is churches and mosques are allowed to operate for four week.
2. The Federal government has modified the nationwide curfew hours. It is now from 10pm till 4am, instead of 8pm till 6am.
3. Also banks and other financial services can now operate fully with their normal hours as well.
Sir Mustapha said that they were approved by President Muhammadu Buhari and the measure will be in place in the next four weeks.
He also said that the state government and the PTF will issue the guidelines to be followed for the reopening of the religious centres.
