Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari has said there would be no nationwide address by the president today.

Recall that Aliyu Sani, the national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, had disclosed that President Buhari will address Nigerians today, Monday when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics. Mr presidents speech was meant to determine if the lockdown will still be on ease or not.

But in a tweet on Monday afternoon, Mr Adesina said the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next step.

“No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps” Femi adesina said on his tweet.
